The watch is based on the iconic Octo case, which is already a direct reference to ancient Roman culture. It had to be expanded slightly to accommodate the large coin covering the dial. The coin acts as a cover for the watch case.<\/p>\n

In other models equipped with this mechanism, you can also see a floating tourbillon located at 6 o’clock. The time is indicated using the hour and minute hands corresponding to the case material.<\/p>\n

The highlight of the watch, of course, is the coin and the image on it. For Bvlgari, Italian culture and Ancient Rome are sources of inspiration. The concept was to create something modern along with timeless.<\/p>\n

Bvlgari uses coins that are almost 2,000 years old in the new watch. The relief depicts Emperor Constans, one of the sons of Constantine the Great, who ruled Rome and the western provinces of the empire. The reverse side depicts Concordia, or the harmony of three brothers who ruled peacefully for many years. It’s a real piece of history that you can wear on your wrist. The Roman heritage is embodied in the Bvlgari Octo Roma Monete watch. In total, two unique units of the watch will be made, one in 18k rose gold and the other in 950 platinum, priced at 530,000 Swiss francs and 550,000 Swiss francs, respectively.<\/p>\n
