Hublot has introduced a new product – Big Bang Unico Sorai<\/strong>. Inside the Big Bang is an automatic Calibre MHUB12800 UNICO 2 manufactured by Hublot. The column-wheel chronograph has a reverse function. The movement includes a 30-minute chronograph, time and date display. It operates at a frequency of 4 Hz, has a 72-hour power reserve and consists of 354 parts.<\/p>\n

The Hublot<\/strong> watch comes with two straps – a grey fabric strap and a rubber strap with an orange-purple camouflage pattern. The straps can be easily removed using an efficient “One-Click” fastening system. The 2023 Hublot Big Bang Unico Sorai watch is available in a limited edition of 100, and the retail price of the 421.FX.8099.NR.SOA23 model is $24,100.<\/p>\n

Hublot Big Bang Unico Sorai Limited Edition<\/strong> is a big and bold, colorful and spectacular watch. This Big Bang Unico is designed to save rhinos. The project helps to buy time for endangered rhinos, allowing them to live longer and not fall prey to their only predator, humans. Sorai is not a charity. It is a socially conscious enterprise that brings people and businesses together to create a more sustainable approach to nature conservation.<\/p>\n

Since 2018, Sorai has been supporting projects to protect endangered animals, find new technologies to combat poaching (thermal imagers, GPS tracking of animals), and raise awareness of the need to protect these endangered species. There are many ways to combat poaching (raising public awareness, education, law enforcement, animal tracking transmitters, increasing the number of rangers, and setting up shelters for injured or orphaned animals). Nevertheless, according to Sorai, prevention and active rangers on the ground remain the most effective tools.<\/p>\n

As with the previous two limited editions, proceeds from the sale of Big Bang Unico Sorai will go directly to Sorai-supported projects to equip helicopters with cameras, raise awareness in schools about the effects of poaching, and provide support for rangers on the ground. These strategies are being implemented where the need is greatest and most urgent, in South Africa, home to more than 80% of the world’s total rhino population, with most of the poaching occurring in Kruger National Park, as it has the largest population of wild rhinos, white rhinos, remaining on earth.<\/p>\n

This is the reason why the Hublot Big Bang Unico Sorai Limited Edition watch was created. This is not only a watch with an eco-friendly approach, but also a watch that makes an impression. This is not a classic discreet watch. This is a typical Hublot. The model is polarizing, colorful and full of contrasts in textures and materials.<\/p>\n

Apart from the fact that this watch is available in a limited edition in a special palette and made of unique materials, it is based on the Big Bang concept. Released in 2005, the Big Bang watch took the original Fusion concept to a new level, reinforcing the identity of the first watches from 1980. In a way, they did to the Hublot watch what Offshore did to the RO. The contrasts are enhanced, the materials are light and high-tech, and the mechanisms are open and complex.<\/p>\n

This new Big Bang Unico Sorai<\/strong> watch is based on the classic elements of the model: the 44 mm case is made of lightweight and durable materials in contrasting colors for a strong visual impact. The current model, despite its height of 14.5 mm and a significant diameter, is surprisingly well worn on the arm. The ears of the body are short and curved, and the materials are light. It combines grey ceramic with micro-jet and polished finishes, as well as matte black ceramic fittings for side protection, the middle part of the case, and the crown\/button module. The color of this watch is not only characteristic of this model, but is also a reference to the theme of rhinos.<\/p>\n

The Hublot Big Bang Unico Sorai watch face also has a number of unique features. The classic openwork dial of the collection is made in the same gray rhino color as a background for very contrasting and colorful accents. It features “the glowing colors of sunset as the sky lights up.” The markings on the inner flange and the applied three-dimensional numbers, as well as the chronograph’s 60-minute counter, are based on a gradient sunset\/rainbow effect of yellow, orange, purple and pink. The rhino figurine is placed in the indicator of the small second hand. The date aperture is at 3 o’clock.<\/p>\n

The Unico caliber is installed inside the case. Hublot is often overlooked in this area, but Unico is a mechanism that deserves respect. The manufactured caliber, designed with the idea that the entire technical side of the dial will be completed, fits perfectly into the overall concept of Big Bang. We are talking about an integrated automatic chronograph with a reverse function with a solid power reserve (3 days) and a column wheel architecture, with the latter fully visible at 6 o’clock on the dial. The back of the mechanism is, of course, a bit simpler, but the contrast between the matte black bridges and the shiny silver moving elements makes it quite attractive. In the context of this limited edition, Sorai has a sunset effect on the rotor and the Sorai logo applied to the glass.<\/p>\n

Last but not least, the Hublot Big Bang Unico is equipped with a proprietary “One-Click” quick-change strap system and two straps. The first is a black rubber strap with black, orange and purple camouflage decoration and a black\u2014coated ceramic and titanium folding clasp. The second one, which makes the watch less polarized, is a gray fabric strap with a black ceramic micro-jet clasp and a Velcro loop.<\/p>\n

The Hublot Big Bang Unico Sorai Limited Edition will be released in 100 copies at a price of 25,200 euros, 22,900 Swiss francs or 24,100 US dollars. All proceeds will go to Sorai.<\/p>\n
