The creation of the RM 07-04 Automatic Sport<\/strong> required three years of development to develop a very compact and skeletonized automatic mechanism of our own production, guaranteeing high impact resistance, perfectly integrating the appearance into the mechanism, leaving its work visible.<\/p>\n

To ensure the rigidity of the assembly, the base plate and bridges are made of Grade 5 titanium with a black PVD coating. To earn its sporting reputation, the mechanism has undergone a series of rigorous tests to confirm its resistance to 5,000 g acceleration, which is a great achievement for the most compact of all Calibers developed by Richard Mille.<\/p>\n

The complication of the function switch, symbolizing the brand, prevents the load on the winding rod. In combination with the Quartz TPT button at the 4 o’clock position, a simple press allows the user to choose between the neutral position (N), the winding position (W) or the time setting (H). The arrow at 5 o’clock indicates the selected function on the Grade 5 titanium flange.<\/p>\n

Including polished corners, milled sections, micro-jet shells, and satin-finished surfaces, the meticulous finish is handmade and demonstrates an uncompromising approach to watchmaking. The name of this model is stamped on the Grade 5 titanium insert in the case ring. Thus, the RM 07-04 Automatic Sport is the most “airy” of Richard Mille’s women’s models, made possible by the use of materials such as Quartz TPT and Carbon TPT for a 30.5 x 44.95 x 10.35 mm body.<\/p>\n

These materials are the exclusive materials of the brand in watchmaking and have a unique appearance. Their remarkable damask surface shows extremely regular but completely unique grooves, as they consist of several layers of parallel threads obtained by separating carbon fibers.<\/p>\n

The fibers are laid in layers no thicker than 45 microns and impregnated with resins developed specifically for Richard Mille. These layers are then stacked on top of each other using an automatic positioning system that changes the orientation of the fiber between each layer by 45\u00b0. After heating to 120\u00b0C and a pressure of 6 bar, they are processed on a CNC machine at Richard Mille manufacturing plants. Carbon fiber TRT is manufactured using an identical process, but from carbon fiber filaments. The entire body structure is waterproof to a depth of 50 meters thanks to two nitrile O-rings and is assembled using 20 Class 5 titanium slotted screws and 316L stainless steel washers.<\/p>\n

The RM 07-04 case has different shades: black for the Carbon TPT model, creamy white, mauve, salmon, green and dark blue for the five Quartz TPT models. The crown is made of Grade 5 titanium, treated with satin finish, micro-jet treatment and polishing.
