The Chopard Alpine Eagle watch collection presents watches made in the aesthetics of the 1970s. The new models feature high-quality manufacturing mechanisms, impressive ergonomics and design, as well as striking dials.<\/p>\n

Chopard presents the Alpine Eagle XL Chrono chronograph. At launch, the Alpine Eagle XL Chrono will be available in three variants. Two stainless steel models with a piercing blue or black dial, as well as a bicolor of ethical rose gold and Lucent Steel A223, which gives the collection a slightly more luxurious two-tone look. Based on the name “XL”, it can be understood that these are quite large chronographs. Their diameter is 44 mm and their thickness is 13.15 mm.<\/p>\n

Chopard is not only a watch company, which has many of its own mechanisms. The reverse chronograph movement with column wheel 03.05-C is used in all three Alpine Eagle chronographs. It is also a world-renowned jewelry house. Chopard brings an impressive level of technical strength to the field of metallurgy. It develops its own alloys and even has its own gold production plant.<\/p>\n

Lucent Steel A223 is a steel alloy developed by Chopard and its partner Voestalpine B\u00f6hler. It is a special steel alloy known for its anti-allergenic properties (comparable to surgical steel), intense reflection and impressive hardness. Made partly from recycled steel, it is 50% more resistant to abrasion than regular stainless steel. The hardness point is especially relevant when you consider that luxury sports watches created in this genre tend to have sharp corners, combinations of matte and polished finishes, and flat surfaces. The alloy is scratch-resistant.<\/p>\n

Ethical gold is a term Chopard has been using for quite some time. It can be mined either in small mines participating in the Swiss Association of the Best Gold (SBGA), or obtained through the supply chain of the Council for Responsible Jewelry (RJC).<\/p>\n

When the Alpine Eagle range was launched last year, the watch was available in two sizes and was offered with only three hands. Moreover, the largest of the two copies had a date indicator.<\/p>\n

The watch’s dial is decorated in the technique of radiant guilloche. The electroplating pattern has been one of the main hallmarks of Alpine Eagle’s design until now. The unique design of the dial, as well as the special case and bracelet, is what distinguishes this class of watches. The drawing competes for attention with additional dials, a tachymeter, and a date aperture.<\/p>\n

The overall architecture of the Alpine Eagle case seems very receptive to the modifications needed for the chronograph. The chronograph buttons occupy the space between the ears and the crown guard. They remain visible and accessible for quick clicking, but unobtrusive. The Alpine Eagle XL Chrono watch is available on a wristband.<\/p>\n

The O3.05-C caliber first appeared in the Mille Miglia 2016 XL Race Edition and was manufactured at the Chopard Fleurier Ebauches factory, a manufacturing center in Fleurier. This is a reverse chronograph with a column wheel that operates at a standard frequency of 4 Hz, while providing a decent 60-hour power reserve.<\/p>\n
