This year, an impressive set of new products was presented at the Geneva Watch Days exhibition. This year, more brands participated, and the list of new products was expanded.<\/p>\n

MB&F EVO. As Max Buesser and the MB&F team explicitly stated during the watch’s presentation, it was high time to redesign MB&F’s simplest (and most convenient) Legacy Machine model into an EVO. For those who loved the LM101 and its “simplicity” with a large balance wheel without any complications, but also appreciated the cosmic design of many crazy watch machines, the LM101 EVO is the perfect combination. Everything about them looks a little more futuristic: from the streamlined body with integrated rubber wristband to the smoothed arches of the balance wheel and the skeletonized trigger wheel. At the same time, the novelty retains a close connection with its more traditional counterpart.<\/p>\n

Most importantly, the LM101 Evo has been designed as a true sports watch with water resistance up to 80 meters, a screw-down crown and a proprietary FlexRing mechanism protection system.<\/p>\n

Of course, the dial itself attracted the most attention, which, thanks to the CVD coating, creates bizarre iridescences of bright green, blue and even purple colors at certain angles. The combination of an analog watch ring and truly serious watchmaking (Vutilainen’s name is written on one of the bridges of the movement) makes this model desirable for fans of the brand.<\/p>\n

Ferdinand Berthoud Naissance d’une Montre 3. The most unusual watches of this year: Ferdinand Berthoud Naissance d’une Montre 3. Ferdinand Berthoud has long been producing exquisite watches that combine history and modernity. The company produces about 50-60 copies annually.<\/p>\n

The Naissance d’une Montre project, founded by Grebel Forsy, Philippe Dufour and Michel Boulanger, is related to both watchmaking and heritage transfer. The aim of the project is to revive, preserve and train young watchmakers in techniques lost to time, and to create truly and almost completely handmade watches. In fact, with the exception of glass, the watches are made using traditional tools without the use of CNC machines, thanks to the collaboration of Ferdinand Berthoux and the watchmakers of his Chopard subsidiary. The watch, worth 830,000 Swiss francs and in a limited edition of 11 copies (including the steel prototype auctioned by Phillips this fall), is equipped with a constant-force fusee and chain system and a bimetallic balance, which took more than 11,000 hours of work by more than 80 craftsmen to create.<\/p>\n

Berneron Quanti\u00e8me Annuel in black. The best indicator of a product’s quality is whether they continue to think about it after the initial reaction subsides. This is how the Berneron Quanti\u00e8me Annuel watch feels.<\/p>\n

The steel “top cover” is needed not only to protect the platinum underneath. Its location on the ears creates a kind of transition, similar to the Patek 3970. The slight difference in the shades of the white metal is reminiscent of the old Royal Oak tantalum and steel models.<\/p>\n

The dial is not only beautiful, but also easy to read. The design was dictated by practicality: the time could be read from top to bottom, and the calendar from left to right. However, the same cruciform shape is repeated in the mechanism on the back cover.<\/p>\n

The convenient buttons at 4:30 and 7:30, the AM\/PM indicator at 6 o’clock and the automatic reset mechanism for months without 31 days simplify the task of setting up the calendar. The price puts the watch on a par with Patek and Lange. But it is well-founded.<\/p>\n

Zenith Defy Chronograph USM. This is a powerful El Primero chronograph in an original Defy case. The body of the first Defy model is characterized by the most architectural design among all Zenith models, which perfectly combines with USM, a family\u2014owned company founded in 1885 as a metalworking workshop, which, thanks to collaboration with architect and designer Fritz Haller, has become a famous furniture manufacturer. References to USM’s unique design solutions are barely noticeable and not noticeable. Using some of the original colors of the USM Haller line allows the 160-year-old Zenith to experiment with a color dial. The LE model is available in a limited edition of 60 copies in each of four colors.<\/p>\n

Bulgari Octo Finissimo Lee Ufan x Bulgari. When mentioning the iconic watches of recent decades, the Bulgari Octo Finissimo immediately comes to mind. With their ultra-thin architecture and minimalist elegance, they have opened up a new dimension in the world of luxury watchmaking. What makes Octo Finissimo particularly attractive is their role as a creative platform. Bulgari used it as a platform for collaboration with such masters as Tadao Ando and Ryuichi Sakamoto, combining fine watchmaking with broader artistic expression. These projects demonstrate how watches can uniquely embody a variety of creative ideas.<\/p>\n

The Octo Finissimo Lee Ufan x Bulgari watch is a sculptural evolution of previous collaborations. While mirrored dials were used in the Kazuyo Sejima version, and laser\u2014engraved bracelets were used in the Tattoo Acqua model, the Lee Ufan version goes further. The entire case is carefully crafted by hand, which creates a rough textured surface that perfectly contrasts with the polished dial. The result is not only visually impressive, but also gives you tactile sensations \u2014 a watch that really comes to life on your hand. This is handled by Fabrizio Buonamassa Stigliani, the brand’s executive director of product creation. His numerous creative works continue to delight.<\/p>\n

Laurent Ferrier Classic Tourbillon S\u00e9rie Atelier VII. At first glance, it’s just a clock that shows only the time, with an additional dial at six o’clock. But if you turn the watch over, you can see the tourbillon \u2014 the most restrained way to demonstrate one of the most spectacular complications of watchmaking.<\/p>\n

At first glance, the hour markers seem to be simple indexes, but upon closer inspection they turn out to be elegantly traced with Roman numerals \u2014 another manifestation of restrained sophistication.<\/p>\n

But behind this restrained exterior lies a serious point: the S\u00e9rie Atelier VII watch is equipped with the LF619.01 Caliber, a hand\u2014wound movement and a double-hair spring tourbillon, which was first introduced in this watch.
