F.P.Journe The Historic Size

In 1991, Francois-Paul Journe presented his first wristwatch at BaselWorld in a platinum case with a diameter of 38 mm. This was unheard of at a time when the watch sizes ranged between 33 and 36 mm. Now, in order to celebrate the end of the historical era of watches with 38 mm diameter cases after 25 years of existence, F.P.Journey has created 38 exclusive collectible sets of 5 iconic 38 mm wide models.

A stainless steel case is an extremely rare occurrence for an executive–class watch. There are very few such watches, and their cost reaches much higher prices at auctions than for models made of precious metals. This set is intended for true collectors: for those who know the value of rarity. The combination of an 18K rose gold watch movement with a 38 mm diameter steel case makes this set the rarest F.P.Journe collection.

The set includes:

Tourbillon Souverain (releases from 1999 to 2003), which previously did not have a gold movement, which makes them doubly exclusive.

Chronomètre à Résonance in its original form (releases from 2000 to 2009) with 2 symmetrical subciferblats.

Octa Automatique (released from 2002 to 2014) is an iconic watch, it is the first F.P.Journe automatic watch.

Octa Calendrier Annuel (releases from 2003 to 2014) is the company’s best–selling automatic model since its inception.

Chronomètre Souverain (released since 2005) – this watch must be included in the set because of its aesthetic completeness and magnificent mechanism; pure minimalism.
