F. P. Journe Tourbillon Souverain Regence Circulaire

Limited edition watches F. P. Journe Tourbillon Souverain Régence CirculaireFrancois-Paul Journe can be called the heir of Abraham-Louis Breguet, since the name of Journe and the term “tourbillon” are practically inseparable nowadays. One of the main collections of the F. P. Journe brand is the Tourbillon Souverain, and in celebration of its love for the watchmaking of the 18th century, the brand has released the Tourbillon Souverain Régence Circulaire.

The last two words in the name of the new model indicate a specific pattern on the dial. To create it, the engraver first applies the pattern to a white gold plate, then fixes it with various chisels. It takes two days of work to create one dial, so it’s not surprising that the novelty was released in a limited edition — only 20 copies (but at an impressive price of 171 thousand Swiss francs).

In addition to the basic decor, the dial carries symmetrically arranged elements: the power reserve indicator is balanced by a small second hand (jumping), and the subciferblat of the hours and minutes is a tourbillon. The manual winding movement is equipped not only with a tourbillon, but also with a proprietary constant-force device (Remontoir d’Égalité), as evidenced by the markings on the dial.
