Hublot MP-10 Tourbillon – An unusual watch with two linear rotors

Last year, as part of the LVMH Watch Week exhibition, Hublot presented the MP-10 Tourbillon model, the concept of which can be called revolutionary without exaggeration.

Instead of the hour and minute hands, this watch uses 4 rotating rollers. A similar circular indicator with red and green zones displays the power reserve. In the lower third of the dial, a tourbillon carriage with a second scale located around the perimeter “hovered” at an angle of 35 degrees. The main innovation of this model is the original automatic winding system, which is formed by two vertical blocks of white gold.

A year later, the watch, which received the prestigious Red Dot Design award, was decided to be updated. The concept of the model remained intact, but the streamlined body without a single sharp corner received a new design. The Terminator watch, as it was dubbed in the Russian-language press, is now available in black ceramic and transparent artificial sapphire.

The choice is very symbolic: black ceramics and sapphire are two of the most iconic materials in the history of the Hublot brand. The ceramic version is limited to 50 copies, while the sapphire version will only be available in 30 copies. Interesting fact: it took 3 years to supply 50 copies of the original MP-10 Tourbillon model. Given the complexity of the production of ceramics and sapphires, buyers of new products will have to wait for their watches no less.

The estimated cost of the models is €344,000 or $330,000 for the black ceramic case version and €458,000 or $440,000 for the sapphire case version.
