Patek Philippe Metiers d’Art

Every year, the Patek Philippe manufactory presents unique novelties as part of an exhibition of rare crafts. The exhibition includes a wristwatch and a table clock.

Calatrava 5077/100G-043 “Wax Print in Greens”
Calatrava watch in 18k white gold case with a dial inspired by the vibrant colors of traditional African fabrics with wax print. The white gold dial has hand-guilloche patterns of curves, on top of which are layers of transparent enamel (flinqué). Using segments of 24-carat gold wire, the enamel master creates shapes that form a cloisonne ornament, and then applies enamels in nine shades combining green, blue and white. Each set requires from 8 to 10 firing stages. Under the dial is an ultra-thin 240 caliber self-winding movement, which is visible through the sapphire crystal back cover.

5077/100R-049, 5089G-101, & 5177G-028 “School of Fish”
The inspiration for this trio was the synchronized movement of schools of fish, twisting and turning in unison as they evade predators, acting like a monolith. Like the previous watches, this trio is equipped with dials with a cloisonne texture, in which a gold thread separates the sectors of multicolored enamel. Each dial has been fired from 12 to 15 times in an oven heated to about 800 degrees Celsius. Inside each watch there is an ultra-thin movement with a microrotor, Caliber 240. The body of each model demonstrates its interpretation of the classic Calatrava design. The 5077 / 100R-049 model is made of rose gold with diamonds on the bezel and ears. The reference 5089G-10 is equipped with a hinged dust cover. Reference 5177G-028, in white gold, is decorated with a signature guilloche pattern in the form of “Paris nails” on the bezel.

5177G-023 “Medieval Ornaments I”
Calatrava with a luxurious cloisonne enamel dial, inspired by ornamental motifs from the Middle Ages, such as those found in manuscripts. The twisting and rotation of the figures on this dial is enclosed in precisely shaped gold wire, which makes the dial one of the most complex and ambitious options for working with cloisonne enamel. It is made in a white gold case with a bezel decorated with a classic guilloche pattern in clous de paris. There is a 240 caliber inside the case.

5177G-024 “Falcon Head”
The 5177G-024 “Falcon Head“ model is an amazingly detailed and realistic image of a falcon made using the wooden marquetry technique. To achieve the image on the dial, the artist carved 168 tiny pieces of wood and 200 inlays from 20 types of wood, including maple, boxwood, walnut and gray poplar. In a white gold case with a bezel in clous de paris, there is a 240 caliber movement from Patek Philippe.

Golden Ellipse 5738/50G-017 “Medieval Ornaments II”
The Golden Ellipse wristwatch features a dial with cloisonne enamel based on an oriental ornament. Each of the dials is baked nine times in an oven heated to 750-780 degrees Celsius. There is a 240 caliber inside the case.

5738/51G-001 Golden Ellipse Haut Artisanat
The Golden Ellipse watches presented in the current collection have another form of enamel on the dial – a notched one. The recesses on the 18-carat gold dial are filled with grand feu black enamel, revealing the protruding parts at the top. These pieces are then hand-engraved to bring floral or floral motifs to life. It is a mesmerizing dial that combines the grace and power of an exquisite Art Nouveau gate. Again, the watch is powered by an ultra-thin movement, a Caliber 240 with a microrotor.
